Following the launch late last year of Ascend, Impiricus is continuing to bulk up the AI-powered physician communication platform’s offerings.

Through a collaboration with QPharma announced this week, HCPs will now be able to request pharmaceutical samples directly through Ascend.

QPharma’s Titanium software enables compliant direct-to-clinician sampling by verifying requests against state and federal licenses and regulations. When embedded into Impiricus’ platform, it allows eligible HCPs to request samples from drugmakers directly within their ongoing conversations via Ascend’s SMS, chatbot and other real-time information channels.

Impiricus suggested in this week’s release that allowing for real-time sample requests simplifies the process and reduces administrative burden for HCPs and, in so doing, can help pharma brands better support clinicians and patients.

“Physicians should be able to access critical resources for patients the moment we need them, without navigating fragmented systems or delayed follow-up,” Osama Hashmi, Impiricus CEO and a board-certified dermatologist, said in the announcement.

“This partnership with QPharma extends our ability to transform physician engagement into immediate action directly within the clinical workflow,” Hashmi continued. “By embedding compliant sampling into physician conversations, our pharmaceutical partners can create experiences that are standardized, compliant, and frictionless across in-office, virtual, and hybrid care environments.”

solli’s Final Thoughts

HCP engagement is among the most important goals of pharma media, as clinicians represent the gatekeepers to prescriptions and thus long-term patient impact.

As doctors remain massively overworked and bogged down with around-the-clock administrative tasks, engagement strategies have shifted to match their jammed schedules and shorter spurts of attention.

Tools that slot into their existing workflows are therefore crucial—even better if they can cut out an extra administrative step to reach relevant scientific updates, brand information or, as is the case here, pharmaceutical samples to pass on to eligible patients.
